Description
Rich Rosé is designed to be served over ice in a wider-rimmed glass than a flute with fresh fruit. Recommended partners include lime, pineapple, ginger and Earl Grey tea. Madame Clicquot, who founded the Champagne house, was the first to create a blended rosé Champagne in 1818. Carrying on this tradition, Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé includes 12% red wine, while the blend itself is the same as the original Rich – 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier 40% and 15% Chardonnay. In both expressions, the Pinot Noir is given a higher dosage to increase the wine’s overall sugar content to 60g/l. A greater proportion of Meunier meanwhile is intended to emphasise “fresh, fruity and gourmand” notes.
